Wendy Edwards’ gravitation from a childhood on a farm in Virginia to undergraduate study in Philadelphia at the University of the Arts, to several years spent in the Southwest earning her MA at the University of New Mexico, has informed her tenure as Professor of Art at Brown University. She came to Providence and Brown in 1980. Her painting style evolved through her love of color, the medium of oil paint, and an exploration of form and texture, particularly patterning. Edwards has shown her work extensively in solo and group exhibitions both at home and abroad and has received numerous research grants and awards.
