NetWorks 2016 Artist Video Portraits Screening at the Dedee Shattuck Gallery

Join the Dedee Shattuck Gallery Saturday, November 19th from 4:00-6:00 pm for a night filled with artistic discussion and exploration.

Conceived in 2008 by Joseph A. Chazan, M.D. and AS220 founder Umberto Crenca, the purpose of the annual NetWorks Rhode Island program has been to document, celebrate, and foster the richly creative and diverse Rhode Island artistic community. Since its inception, the project has generated an archive of video and photographic portraits enriched by museum and gallery exhibits, catalogues, and panel discussions.  Videographer and editor Richard Goulis has created more than 100 eight-minute NetWorks video portraits for Dr. Chazan, executive producer.  These have been screened in museums and have been broadcast by RI PBS.  The screening on November 19 will feature the 2016 additions to this body of work.

Featured artists will include, Reenie Barrow, Nicholas Benson, Dennis Congdon, David DeMelim, Ann Fessler, Hank Gilpin, Peter Marcus, Mary Beth Meehan, Allison Newsome, Brian Shure, Meredith Stern, Gail Whitsitt-Lynch
